  • Run Special events. Our annual celebration is the iconic ‘It’s a Riot’ Day in October each year. This is a day for members to gather, visitors to explore the site on our pre-booked tours, see our special collections, visit the Research Centre, attend a presentation, or sit down with some refreshments where descendants can catch up with each other and share information.
  • We provide booked tours of the Parramatta Female Factory, the earliest surviving convict women’s site in Australia. Simply email us at parrmattafemalefactoryfriends@gmail.com with a request which is sent to our Tour Coordinator. See our Tours tab for more information.
  • We can, by emailing us, give Talks for community organizations on different topics relating to the Parramatta Female Factory and the Female Factory System as well as related topics.
  • We have an Exhibition about the Parramatta Female Factory in our new rooms located in the 1821 Greenway – Matron’s Quarters and Administration Building, which is open for Special Events.
  • The Parramatta Female Factory Friends Research Centre and Babbette Smith Library Collection will be officially opening in 2024.
  • Members and the general public can attend our General Meeting at 2pm every second month on the third Friday (February, April, June, August, October and December).
